So the story goes......

As the fog rolls in over the dark waters, whispers abound of a hidden port where the members of the Order of Leviathan make their home. The members of this group hold high the Leviathan, a giant sea monster, who once ruled the seas. No one knows for sure what secrets the Order holds, but rumors persist that they have a code of articles designed to ensure the safety and success of their endeavors. Some say that they possess untold wealth and power, while others warn that those who cross them have met a grisly fate. Be that as it may, while the truth may be shrouded in mystery, one thing is certain - fair warning for those that trifle with the Order of Leviathan and tose who call us mates “May Fortune Find You!”

The Order of Leviathan, is a preeminent organization for men and women of recognized quality and integrity within the pirate subculture community, without regard to race, creed, religion, or gender. The OoL is first and foremost a private group of recognized pirates, honored and welcomed into a private society, consistently delivering leadership and encouragement to fellow members as well as other pirate groups. We are dedicated to supporting our fellow historical reenactors, like-minded crews and charities, and strive to exemplify a moral code founded on honesty, strength of character and a high standard of ethics.
As is appropriate to the organization, the proceeds of each OoL cob go to various charities, and to help sustain the non-profit organization! So every purchase of an OoL cob, is supporting a very noble cause.

This cob is designed by the OoL, and struck and sold exclusively through the Black Spot Guild. Like the others, it is made from 27 or 31 grams of solid .999 fine silver, and available in a slew of shape and finish options.
As with with others, they are available as a "Royal" or a more traditional strike.
The traditional (roundISH) and "clipped" (oddly shaped) strikes show roughly 50-70% of the design. These are struck how the originals would have been; a couple good hits and into the bin to head to Spain! The Royals I spend considerably more time on; making a nearly perfectly round, perfectly flat planchette, which I then spend considerably more time striking between the die 30+ times to achieve as close to perfect a strike as is possible with a handmade planchette. I strive for 95% or more of the design on the royals. The incredible time and care spent on each one is the reason for the higher cost.
