the "Salem Shilling"

The Salem Shilling is a variation of my Pirate Shilling, saying "Salem" on the one side nice and clearly. It is for those that really love Salem or witches and love a version of the coin that says the location of the famous witch trial events.

The Pine Tree Shilling is considered to be one of the absolute first coins in America. They were minted in Boston from 1667-1682, but all had the date of 1652 on them.
The originals are considered by collectors to be one of the "holy grails" of coins, and sell for anywhere from about $800-$100,000!

The Black Spot Guild version bears the year 1692, in remembrance of the famous Salem which trials. (this version also saying "Salem" on the tree side of the coin.)
The Pine Tree Shilling, along with the famous "pieces of eight", would have been common currency in Salem and the colonies during the witch hysteria, so I thought that was the perfect year to have on them.
As always, there is a subtle pirate influence on the coin as well.
Just like all my cobs, this one is struck in solid .999 fine silver, completely by hand, in my workshop in New Hampshire.
The standard version is 9 grams, true to the originals. Or you can choose 15.5 grams (1/2 ounce).
Natural or antiqued finish.
